Sign up for Kisi

You can create a Kisi Account here and signup with your work email. Once you sign up, you will receive an email to confirm your account. Then, you can sign in on both the web admin dashboard and mobile application.

Download the Kisi App

Download Kisi from the iOS or Android stores. Once you download the app, you should be able to immediately sign in.

The Kisi app is available on Android OS 5.0 and above, and iOS 8.0 and above. However, it is not available on Windows phones.

Connecting Kisi to your Network

Kisi must be connected to your office’s internet in order to function properly. If you have a Kisi Pro, you can connect via Ethernet and/or Wifi. If you have a Kisi Basic, you can connect via Wifi.

Kisi Pro

To connect Kisi Pro to your network, simply plug an ethernet cable into the ethernet port on the Kisi controller’s board. The other end of the ethernet cable must be plugged into a router, switch, or some other type of ethernet connected port. You must also connect Kisi to your wifi network in order to assign your Kisi controller to your Kisi account.

You can see all network requirements for Kisi Pro here.

Kisi Basic

To connect Kisi Basic to your wifi network, you need to go through our Blink Up process. Blink Up is accomplished by sending a light impulse from your phone to a light receiver located on the Kisi controller’s board. For all wifi network requirements, please review these articles:

Create a Place

A Kisi Place is the ecosystem where your entire access system lives. Places hold your Doors, Users, Groups, and Restrictions. Creating a Place is the first step to setting up your Kisi system. This should be done from your computer. To start, log into your Kisi account.

To create a Place: select ‘Add Place’, enter your location details, and press ‘Save’.

Place Details

Inside of your Place, you have access to Dashboard, Activities, Groups, Users, Doors, Integrations, and Preferences. You can navigate using the navigational bar located at the top of the page.

Doors are the actual doors that will be connected to your Kisi device. Creating a door creates a button in your Kisi App. Pressing the button will unlock your door.

To create a door, navigate to ‘Doors’ and press ‘Add Door’.

Enter the name of your door. This name will be displayed to all users in your app. Select a gateway to connect to your door . When you select the field, you will see the Kisi controller you connected to your network is selectable. Select the channel to connect to your door. Channel numbers are written above each Relay inside of the Kisi controller. When your doors are wired to the Kisi controller, each door will need to be wired into the relay with its corresponding channel.

Kisi Pro: Channels are 1, 2, 3, and 4

Kisi Basic: Channels are 10, 11, 12, and 13

First Unlock

Even if your Kisi controller is not connected to your doors, you can ensure that everything has been configured correctly. Navigate to ‘Doors’. You should now see the name of your doors with a blue padlock icon set to the left. Press that icon and wait for it to turn green.

When it turns green, you should hear two clicks from your Kisi controller. If you hear those clicks, everything has been configured correctly! Alternatively, you can test this from your Kisi App as well.

Next, it’s time to have your installer connect your Kisi controller to your electronic door locks.
